EMN Christmas File List - Christmas Interstitials/Ads File List
Movies | Shows/Specials | Miscellaneous
Angry Video Game Nerd
Year: 2014
Synopsis: The AVGN counts down his Twelve Days of Shitsmas, covering games and accessories you probably don't want to find under your tree.
EMN Notes: It isn't EMN without us putting James Rolfe on as many channel lineups as possible. I can't help it! He always makes us laugh, and as long as he keeps putting out holiday-themed specials we'll keep adding him to the lineup. This stretch of episodes has some real classics, too, like the LJN Video Art and Desert Bus. Combine the humor with the Christmas decorations and theming and you have a recipe for success.
Homestar Runner
Year: 2000
Synopsis: Every December the denizens of Free Country, USA, celebrate Decemberween, an incredibly...convoluted winter holiday.
EMN Notes: Homestar's nonsensical parodies of Christmas classics with their loosely-defined celebration of Decemberween always, always, always puts a smile on my face. I've loved their Decemberween specials since the original Holiday Greeting and The Best Decemberween Ever shorts. Mandy even gets their friend a Deep Impact DVD every year for Christmas as a joke reference to it! I think that's so funny.
Various Advertisements
Year: Various
Synopsis: Every year, Christmas-themed ads hit the airwaves. That's right, they do exist.
EMN Notes: Honestly, nothing gets me in the spirit quite like these wild Christmas ads the stations start pumping out, and we've found some wild ones. There are the hits, like the M&Ms commercial, the Coke bears, and Lebron's Sprite Cranberry ad, but we dug deep for the rest and they're all a ton of fun.
Various Music Videos
Year: Various
Synopsis: You know what really gets me into the holiday spirit? Christmas music. That's why we have old classics and new hits sprinkled between these movies and shows!
EMN Notes: If you really look at the lyrics, Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" is a song about Paul and his friends doing a forbidden ritual in the garage but they're interrupted partway through and have to hurriedly pretend that they're celebrating like nice Christian boys. Anyway, some people hate when stores start pumping Christmas music through their speakers. I'm not one of them. If we have to go out having three different versions of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on our channel, so be it.
