EMN Notes: This film is utterly brilliant, such a clever piece of work that manages to feel both fresh and modern yet classic. The twists will keep you guessing and it manages to be extremely funny and biting in its satire of class solidarity while also being an excellent and thrilling mystery to boot. It never misses a step from start-to-finish as you grin and gasp in equal measure. Also, Daniel Craig gets to put on a nonsensical fake Cajun accent that actually makes the part even funnier. And the reward was this wondrous, beautiful, gut-wrenching horror film by David Lynch. We're big fans of his, and neither of us were expecting to go into this film to find the tragic story of a troubled teen dealing with assault, repressed bisexuality, and her slow march towards her death. It's as bittersweet as it is beautiful, a mesmerizing film that, if you're on the right wavelength, will leave you breathless and serves as the perfect finale to one of the greatest shows of all time.
