ATTENTION FANS AND VISTORS. THIS SITE IS UNDERGOING A MAJOR UPDATE AND OVERHAUL. THE NEW ODYSSEY OF HYRULE LEGENDARY EDITION HAS NOW TAKEN OVER FULL FUNCTIONALITY OF THE OLD ODYSSEY OF HYRULE. CHECK OUT MY PROGRESS ON THE NEW SITE. THROUGHOUT THIS MONTH I WILL BE CONSTANTLY UPDATING THE NEW SITE. PLEASE REPORT ANY ERRORS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER. DO NOT UPDATE BOOKMARKS WITH THE NEW WEB ADDRESS YET AS THE FINAL WEB ADDRESS WILL BE DIFFERENT AND ANYONE WHO HAS NOT VISITED THE ODYSSEY IN AWHILE WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REDIRECTED TO THE NEW WEB ADDRESS. THERE WILL BE GREAT THINGS TO COME FOR ZELDA AND THE ODYSSEY OF HYRULE IN 2005!
5/2/21 - A note from the archivist: The Odyssey of Hyrule is a website that I know many of us have fond memories of visiting, reading, and submitting to. Video Gamer X was, to put it lightly, one heck of a character, and this website is packed with culturally-significant articles, rants, experiences, and pieces of a very special part of internet and even world history. I have attempted to piece together this website using archived copies of two different versions of VGX's site as best I can, but expect many broken images and links as unfortunately not everything can be found. I hope that this place can offer a time capsule of a time where a 13-year-old from Colombia could trick the world into thinking the Triforce existed, or when the code now known to spawn cutscene maps was called "the Beta Quest" and was a peek behind the curtain of video game programming. I always attempt not to edit sites I archive too much, but I will be attempting to fix as many outbound links as I can. For maximum nostalgia, try listening to the music that used to play here. I confess I didn't feel like hosting 500MB worth of MIDI-turned-MP3 on my own server, but I'm sure this will do the trick. Enjoy your stay. Love, Erin.

In a realm beyond sight,
The sky shines gold, not blue,
There, the Triforce's might
Makes mortal dreams come true

In the beginning amidst the darkness of eternal space, from a distant nebula three goddesses decended upon a formless choatic waste of a world. Din, the goddess of power forged the mountains and great plains from the firey bowels of desolation and separated the waters of the sky and between the land. Farore engendered living inteligence upon the land with many creature of varied kind, male and female they were. Nayru with wisdom brought the order of law and harmony upon nature and set into motion the everlasting cycle of birth, life, death, and afterlife and these three created the unification of cosmic balance. Before these beautiful goddesses traveled onward to create anew thier masterwork they bestowed a manifestation of their essence within a mighty artifact called the Triforce, a object that would be sought by many and attained by only one. The Triforce took its place within it's heavenly annex within a Sacred Realm where the spirits roam free. And so began the "Odyssey of Hyrule." ~ - The Book of Mudora, The Early Times, chap 1, v. 1 - 6
