It was raining in the desert.
This hadn't happened since a time when Balazir was a young boy, and so
he savored every drop as it splashed down onto his uncovered dark brown
hair. It was an odd sight, if anyone chanced to see it on that desolate
night, a young man on camelback, trotting slowly through the rain. (from
Chapter 1)
At this point, Kashatar drew
out a scroll from a pocket of his robe and unrolled it. "This," he
said, pointing at the scroll, "is our goal. I hold in my hands a
map, a map that will lead us to the Forgotten City of Alkashira, and from
there to the Utopia that is our destiny!" (from Chapter 2)
Kashatar allowed
himself to finally fall to his knees, panting, alongside the raging torrent.
This river, which only a few hours ago had not even existed at all, was
now running wildly and rapidly, confusedly and crookedly, to nowhere in
particular, much like Kashatar himself. The water, however, continued
to rush by as Kashatar kneeled exhausted at its edge. (from Chapter 3)
Coming soon: A map of Eksudah,
the location of the story, and perhaps some original artwork.
