LETTER OF THE MONTH

If you write me a really insightful, interesting, provocative letter I will award it with the status of Letter of the Month. I can't really send you anything special like some of the Gaming Mags, but you will be honored for providing a something worthwhile to the The Odyssey of Hyrule and gamers around the world. There is so many great things that can be said about the Zelda series, and the effect that it leaves on people's minds and lives. Be creative and show everyone what Zelda means to you.

LETTER OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER 1998

~MY OPINIONS ON THE END~

Excellent! Superb!! I was only 4 years old when the first Zelda game came out for NES, but even then i knew that this was a game more special than the rest. I have been waiting long years, since the arrival of the N 64, to achieve my dream of wielding Zelda...Since I wasn't a veteran of the first few Zelda games, I had many surprises coming to me. I WAS hoping the legendary Legend of Zelda song (the one on your main page) would be in the game. That song inspires me. As for the ending....hmmmm....sorry, kid.....I can't think of anything funny to say! At the very end when young Link and Zelda see each other again....it proposes the question,"Do both little Link and Zelda still remember their adulthoods? If so, Link didn't listen to Zelda. He didn't forget about everything, and maybe, just maybe...they lived happily ever after for those 7 years TOGETHER. But I think we all feel a sense of incompleteness. I think I'm going to take your advice and try to beat Ganon again. Then I'll look for the Triforce. Thanks Nintendo. Do us favor and make a SEQUEL in AT LEAST 2 to 3 years. Forget about working on new games like Banjo, or Glover. (Glover??? c'mon!) There will always be a mythical place in my heart that holds my courageous Link, and my beautiful Princess Zelda.....

Video Gamer X says: This is the kind of letter I look for as a Letter of the Month. Very insightful and makes a good read. Good Job! Indeed, completing a Zelda game leaves an aftermath of a sense of awe and happiness. I can't think of any reason why Nintendo would make second-rate inferior games when masterpieces like The Ocarina of Time can be brought to fruition. For Nintendo to remain as a leader or perhaps become a trailblazer in the development of interactive entertainment software it must use available technology to create the most enjoyable gaming experience possible. Is there a ceiling on the immersiveness and realism potential of a Video Game? VR? Holodeck? The future is a path yet untraveled and for gamers it is filled with wonderous new experiences.
